How to save money on your parking at MCR Airport
We're committed to providing safe, security-protected airport parking, friendly service and value for money. Our customers all have different priorities – if saving money is one of yours, Rob, Contact Center Manager here at APH explains some of the best ways to save money on your parking.
"There are a couple of different ways to save money. First off, check out parking spots away from the airport itself. While you'll need to get a bus to the terminal, these parking spaces usually come with much cheaper rates. You should also try to book your spot in advance as you'll normally be able to save a few quid if you're an early bird. That's why we recommend booking your car parking as soon as you know when and where you're travelling. If you're jet-setting for a while, look into long-term parking packages or park-and-fly hotel combos for some serious savings as these can often be cheaper than booking separately."
1.Book early to save:
We always recommend booking in advance, if possible. Car parking prices fluctuate with availability, just like most airfares. Booking early is an easy way to make savings. If you make a booking with us six months before your flight departure, you could save up to 60%, compared with making a reservation one week before departure. The graph below gives you an indication of how much Manchester parking prices can shift over six months. Prices are the average price per day.
2.Go for Park & Ride
Our second tip is to look for off-airport parking. We offer a choice of great-value Park & Ride or Self Park options, all less than 10 minutes from the terminals. These are nearly always cheaper than the on-airport car parks. You'll still get easy access and complimentary bus transfers, though. Look for the Manchester Airport APH Car Park (which is a Park & Ride), the APH Self Park, JetParks 1 or JetParks 3. For your peace of mind, all these car parks carry the Park Mark Safer Parking Award.
3.Sign up for great deals
We'll send out our latest deals and sales, as well as instant discounts of at least 10% when you sign up to our mailing list. To claim your discount, enter your email below. Make sure to fully check the terms and conditions before you book, as some parking options are non-refundable.
How does your off-airport parking work?
Off-airport parking is the cheapest option – but it doesn't mean compromising on location or security. All our off-airport car parks carry the Police-approved Park Mark Safer Parking Award, so you can be sure you and your vehicle are safe and secure.
All you need to do is follow the directions to the car park, park your car and take the bus transfer to your terminal. Transfers operate regularly and drop you right outside the terminal doors. Off-airport car parking for Manchester Airport can be Park & Ride, where you leave your keys with the parking operator, or Self Park, where you keep your keys with you.
Car Park | Parking Type | Transfer Type | Price (per week)* |
---|---|---|---|
APH Manchester Car Park | Off-Airport | 10 minute bus | £73.95* |
APH Park & Ride with EV Charging | Off-Airport | 5-10 minute bus | £113.94* |
How does your on-airport parking work?
When you choose on-airport parking, it's usually in the Multi-Storey car parks. Outside each of the terminals is a Multi-Storey which is connected to the check-in desks via a covered walkway – this is usually just a few minutes' walk away. As the on-airport Multi-Storey car parks are closest to the terminal building, this makes them best suited for those who are going on a short trip.
Car Park | Parking Type | Price (per week)* |
---|---|---|
Manchester Multi Storey T1 | On-airport | £100.00* |
Manchester Multi Storey T2- East | On-airport | £114.00* |
Manchester Multi Storey T2 - West | On-airport | £97.00* |
Manchester Multi Storey T3 | On-airport | £97.00* |
How does Meet & Greet parking work?
Meet & Greet parking is the most convenient parking option as it means you can drive straight to the terminal, where you'll be met by your operator. They'll take your keys and park your car for you. All you need to do is take your bags and walk to the check-in desks. While you're away, we'll park your car in a secure parking facility and bring it back to the terminal for you to collect upon your return.
We offer Meet & Greet services at all three terminals. We'd recommend comparing our Meet & Greet prices with the official on-airport car parks. They're often similar but the extra service and convenience make Meet & Greet ideal for travellers with children or lots of luggage, or for anyone short on time.
Car Park | Parking Type | Price (per week)* |
---|---|---|
Manchester Meet and Greet T1 | Meet and Greet | £82.99* |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best parking at Manchester Airport?
If you're looking for the most economical option, look at off-airport facilities, such as our own APH Car Park. It’s easy to find, highly reviewed and just 10 minutes by shuttle bus to the terminals. If you want to drive straight to the terminal, our Meet & Greet services are the most convenient option.
What is the cheapest way to park in Manchester Airport?
Off-airport parking is usually the cheapest option. For example, our APH Car Park or APH Self Park services cost as little as £6.42 per day, so there's always an affordable way to travel when you choose us.
How much does parking at Manchester Airport cost?
Car-park prices fluctuate according to availability and the season of travel. Peak times, such as in the summer holidays, can be more expensive than other times of the year. We recommend booking early, as rates often increase as spaces fill up. To save money, look for off-airport car parks, which include free shuttle transfers to the terminal and are usually the most economical choices.
How much is the long-stay car park?
Prices vary by season for long-stay parking. The summer months are peak travel times so are more expensive. You can expect to pay anywhere from £45 to £80 in the winter and £100 to £130 in the summer for a week's parking.
Is it cheaper to book parking online?
Yes. We recommend booking online and in advance to secure the best rates and online discounts. Sign up for the APH newsletter to receive notification of discounts for Manchester Airport parking and hotels.
What happens if I arrive earlier or later than planned?
Most car parks can handle early arrivals. If you anticipate being delayed, we advise contacting the car park as soon as possible. Please note that any fees for late returns are determined by the car park.
Can I book a hotel and parking package?
Certainly! To find great value Manchester Airport hotel and parking packages, navigate to the Manchester Hotel & Parking page, enter your dates, and browse our selection.
Can I amend my parking booking?
If you need to modify the details of your booking, it may be possible to do so with APH. To request changes, please contact our customer services team.
Is disabled parking free at Manchester Airport?
Unfortunately, Manchester Airport does not provide free Blue Badge parking. Many car parks do offer facilities to accommodate a diverse range of needs, so we recommend reviewing an individual car park's information prior to making a reservation. At APH's own car parks, we provide disabled facilities for Blue Badge holders. If you have a question about our car parks and accessibility, get in touch with our team.
Can you just turn up and park at Manchester Airport?
Yes, you can, but pre-booked parking is almost always cheaper. Spaces tend to fill up and, as supply diminishes, prices tend to increase. If convenience is a priority, then look at our Meet & Greet services, where they collect your car from you at the terminal and drive it to a secure parking compound, while you walk to the check-in desks.
Can I reserve a specific parking spot?
No, you can't. Our car parking spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Although you can't pre-book a specific space, you can pick the type of parking you would like. This means you'll be able to choose between on-site and off-site parking. All you need to do is select the type of parking you'd like at the time of the reservation.
What is the Park Mark Safer Parking Award and why is it so important?
Always look out for a Park Mark Safer Parking Award when looking at airport car parks. As a Police Crime Prevention Initiative designed to reduce crime and the fear of crime in car parks across the UK, the Park Mark Safer Parking Award is given only to car parks that meet certain security, maintenance and management standards. All the car parks in Manchester Airport that you can book through APH have attained the award, including our own APH Car Park.

How far in advance should I book my parking spot?
We recommend booking your parking space as early as possible. This usually means you'll be able to get a better price, especially during peak seasons. It also guarantees availability for your preferred car park.
Is my parking reservation refundable?
Normally, yes. For most bookings, you can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before you travel. You can change or manage your booking by logging into your account. We don't offer refunds for certain parking deals, so it's always worth checking the terms and conditions before you book.
What do I do if I have an issue with my parking reservation?
If you have any unexpected issues with your booking, please contact our customer support team. They'll be happy to help answer any questions you may have or help with any parking issues.
